SolidarioGB News Bulletin
12–19 October 2026
This week’s bulletin examines a period of intensifying class conflict across continents. In Gaza the so-called ceasefire continues to claim lives while the health system collapses. In Europe, hundreds of thousands of students took to the streets in France, Italy, Albania, Spain and Belgium against the deterioration of public education and the rising cost of living. In Latin America, youth mobilisations in Ecuador and Chile challenged the governments of Noboa and Kast, while the Chilean Proletarian Action Party (PCAP-Chile) launched a formal recall campaign against José Antonio Kast through the website www.fuerajosekast.cl.
The analysis also covers the dialogue process in Venezuela, the national strike in Colombia, the tight presidential race in Brazil, Cuba’s resistance to the blockade, and the broader polarisation of the region.
From SolidarioGB we read these events as the living terrain of neoliberal crisis: a moment in which youth and organised sectors of the working class are moving from spontaneous protest toward concrete political tools. The task remains to turn legitimate anger into organisation capable of contesting real power.
