Chilean organizations demand resignation of the National Police Director

Friday last saw a demostration of protesters in the Chilean capital, Santiago. In that protest carabineros, Chilean paramiliarty police, pushed a 16 year old youth into the Mapocho river. The youth sustained several fractures and a contusion. He is in a Santiago clinic.

This event ocurred while there were protest around the centric Dignidad Square, so dubbed by protesters, in Santiago on Friday last, when a group of protesters were being chased by anti-riot police. these scenes were captured by police CCTV over the bridge and now the nations Fiscalía has ordered the prosecution of the policeman involved.

This Monday a group of Chilean social organisation, as well as a dozen mothers, protested in Santiago to demand the resignation of the Chief of Carabineros in Chile, Mario Rozas.
