News in Depth at the Beginning of November: Imperialist Contradictions, Lawfare in the Region, and the Response of the Global South

The international geopolitical arena at the start of November 2026 provides unequivocal confirmation of the core premises of historical materialism and the Leninist theory of imperialism. We are living through a phase of extreme sharpening of late-capitalist contradictions, where the decline of Anglo-American financial and military hegemony coexists with brutal attempts by monopoly capital to offload its crises onto the backs of the global working class. Through wars of aggression, the deployment of judicial terrorism (lawfare), and the imposition of emergency regimes, the transnational bourgeoisie is desperately trying to halt both the consolidation of a multipolar world order and the awakening of mass mobilization.

  1. Institutional Crisis and the War Economy in the Heart of the Imperialist Bloc

In his writings, Lenin demonstrated that the bourgeois-democratic republic is the most efficient political shell for the dictatorship of capital. However, when the crisis of overproduction and the falling rate of profit choke metropolitan powers, this shell fractures. The upcoming midterm elections in the United States reflect this exact phenomenon. The frantic campaign agenda of mass, non-interactive tele-rallies deployed by Donald Trump is not a sign of democratic vitality, but an exercise in ideological manipulation designed to contain the discontent of an American proletariat battered by unstoppable structural inflation.

The financial oligarchy in Washington seeks to export its contradictions by sustaining a permanent war economy. The maintenance of the naval blockade and hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran prove that imperialism cannot survive without suffocating the sovereign energy corridors of the Gulf. On this chessboard, the farce of international bourgeois legality is laid bare on the coast of Gaza. Under the cover of a “nominal ceasefire” that serves purely as diplomatic camouflage, the Zionist settler enclave continues its campaign of extermination and territorial reconfigured layout, exceeding 74,500 casualties and cutting food supplies to 1.8 million displaced people as winter approaches. The Israeli Knesset elections expose the fragmentation of its ruling class, but reaffirm a Marxist truth: capitalist peace is nothing more than the preparation for new and more brutal aggressions.

  1. The Struggle for the State Apparatus in Latin America: Transition, Compromise, and Lawfare

In our Latin America, the class confrontation is fought with particular bitterness around the control of state structures and the defense of national independence. Almost ten months after the direct military aggression perpetrated by Washington and the abduction of Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan state is going through a complex transition under the leadership of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez. The state-led “Venezuela Reborn” plan and urban reordering after June’s destructive earthquakes represent a legitimate effort of sovereign resistance.

Nevertheless, a scientific analysis of this transition compels us to warn against the severe dangers of class compromise. The return to the national stage of comprador bourgeois figures allied with the Pentagon, such as María Corina Machado, combined with the issuance of nearly 9,000 political amnesties to elements linked to civil sabotage, demonstrates the structural limitations of reformism. Revolutionary history teaches us that sovereignty is not defended through coexistence pacts with the local agents of monopoly capital, but through the definitive destruction of the old bureaucratic apparatus and the direct democratic control of the means of production by the working class and the poor peasantry.

Meanwhile, in nations subordinated to the colonial agenda of imperialism, the state apparatus assumes its purely dictatorial character. In Ecuador, the oligarchic regime of Daniel Noboa has suppressed basic civil guarantees by imposing nightly military curfews in five strategic provinces, protecting port zones for private commercial flows. At the same time, the Ecuadorian judiciary operates as a specialized detachment of oppression at the service of big capital, implementing blatant lawfare through the “Laberinto” case to imprison and proscribe the reformist opposition, as seen with the pre-trial detention ordered against Luisa González.

This offensive of reaction is replicated in Brazil, where the Federal Police have been forced to investigate over 30 cases of systemic violence, assassinations, and racist attacks perpetrated by landlords and real estate speculators against Indigenous communities in Mato Grosso do Sul. Following local electoral processes, neo-fascist factions linked to the Bolsonaro clan are acting with total impunity to force accumulation through land dispossession, proving that under dependent capitalism, land ownership will always be defended through paramilitarism and terror.

  1. The Youth Awakening in Europe and the Strategic Limits of Multipolarity

Despite an immense apparatus of ideological control, social peace in the centers of European capitalism is beginning to crack. The massive student uprising in Germany, where over 180,000 Gen Z youths under the Gen Z Regelt platform paralyzed more than 30 cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich, constitutes a revolutionary milestone in the current conjuncture. The European proletarian youth refuses to pay for the crisis of capital through the social spending cuts imposed by the Friedrich Merz administration, and firmly rejects state plans to reactivate compulsory military service for the expansionist interests of NATO on the eastern front. The historical task of vanguard organizations is to transform this spontaneous resistance into a conscious, organized struggle for the destruction of imperialist militarism and the conquest of political power.

Finally, the notable advances of the Global South in building alternative networks to the US dollar monopoly—such as the entry into force of the upgraded China-Peru FTA, the energy infrastructure deployment by CMEC in Uruguay, and the third Russia-Africa summit in Moscow—pose an important strategic debate for the international communist movement. While it is tactically progressive for sovereign countries to diversify trade ties to break the financial blackmail of the IMF, Wall Street, and the World Bank, the Marxist-Leninist militancy must harbor no reformist illusions.

Multipolarity alters the global correlation of forces and weakens Anglo-American unipolar imperialism, but it does not replace the historical necessity of the socialist revolution. Emerging economic blocs operate under the laws of capitalist accumulation and commodity export. The true emancipation of the working class and oppressed peoples will not come from a balance of powers, but from internationalist solidarity, the destruction of the capitalist mode of production, and the construction of global socialism.

Workers of the world and oppressed peoples, unite!
