The terror of the White Army, the desperation of the campesino, the cold reality of capitalist encirclement—these are reduced to variables in a model. This is the ultimate academic fetishization of revolution, stripping it of its pain, its courage, and its necessary violence.
3. The Question of a “Socialist AI”: Could a future socialist society create its own AI? Perhaps. But it would be an AI of a fundamentally different character, built not on the stolen data and abstracted logic of capital, but on a new, emancipatory foundation. It would be designed not for profit or optimization for optimization’s sake, but for the concrete needs of the commune—managing distribution, modeling ecological repair, facilitating democratic planning. It would be a tool of the associated producers, not a ghost in the machine of their exploitation.
